Who am I

Founder, Software Developer, Mentor

Hello there. I’m Alex Maistrov, the founder of the Self-Taught Remote. And as you might guess, I am Self-Taught and 100% Remote software developer. After graduating from Engineering and Economics, I was struggling with a career. I realized that the traditional education system did not prepare me for market demands at all. The system teaches us just to know, not to do. I was frustrated.

Then I revealed a world of online self-education, and my life was never the same. I designed a self-education plan to become the Software Developer and learned to program from absolute 0 to my first programming job in 11 months with almost no cost. I learned many strategies and tactics for efficient self-education and collected the data that I can use to help you.

I am here to share it all with you.

Why I do it

As the self-taught, I often notice Software Developers who went a traditional education way investing an enormous amount of time and money. And after graduation, they realize that they still need to do another “investment round” to prepare their skills to actual market demands. As the remote, I often see Software Developers who need to move a thousand miles from home to learn skills they crave or to do a work they passionate about. Here in Self-Taught Remote, my goal is to show that a better way exists.

All I do, I believe in self-education, the ability to deliver value from anywhere, and its positive impact on people and businesses. I believe these are crucial skills in the 21st century, which will help you stand out in the age of AI and Robots.

The way I express my beliefs is by creating a place where you will find all you need to become a self-taught developer and join a remote lifestyle in a way specific to your personality and circumstances. The place which will motivate and inspire you to keep going. Place where you can connect with like-minded people. Join now!

What I do

  1. 01

    Coaching

Going self-taught is the best, but not the simplest path. The support of mentors is essential. The remote lifestyle is amazing! But it is not a straightforward task to join one. That is why I do personal coaching and training to help you achieve both in a way that works best for you!

  2. 02

    Courses To come

I create "practice-first" online courses to teach how to create software using development best practices where you will “learn by doing”.

  3. 03

    Content

I create distilled content to share personal thoughts, experience, and experience of others. I know from personal experience that motivation is crucial along the way of self-education; I share success stories of other self-taught, remote developers to inspire you and keep moving.

  4. 04

    Community

With the Self-Taught Remote, I build a community of like-minded people where people can share knowledge and experience, help, and motivate each other.

  5. 05

    Research & Development

I practice what I preach! As the self-taught remote Software Developer and Innovator. I build robust, secure, and scalable web-based AI driven systems and infrastructures using modern technologies and tools.

I have a noble ambition, but also I am following the "Start small, think big" approach. My first goal is to help the first 100 people.
